This sensational cuvée emerges from 100 year-old vines in LaGardiole and is composed of entirely Grenache, partly aged in new Barriques(more modern approach). It brilliantly manifests the potential of this grape. The wine shows heady and seductive aromas of blackcurrant, plush red fruit, spice and lavender which levitate from the glass and gain nuance with air. Succulent fruit blossoms on the palate. Only 1300 cases per vintage.

“The 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Alexis Establet is pure Grenache raised in a combination of foudres, demi-muids and new barriques. It's a richer, more powerful wine than the regular bottling, weighing in at 16%alcohol, yet it never seems hot, just big, plush and velvety. Subtle notes of cocoa and pencil shavings frame cherry and spice flavors in this seamless blend of fruit and oak. Sexy stuff!”
